FT Mail - Overview
FT Mail provides a complete mailing service that enables its
customers to efficiently and effectively communicate with all its stakeholders using personalised or bulk distribution.

The business occupies a 3,000 square metre site on the edge of
Southampton making it a supplier of choice for those producing
printed matter that requires mailing, especially stock that arrives
by sea, reducing delivery miles and carbon footprint.

With the capacity to laser print over one million A4 sheets,
enclose 750,000 C5 envelopes and poly-wrap 500,000
publications each and every working day, FT Mail can handle
anything from a simple daily routine to a heavily inserted
subscription magazine package.

FT Digital - Overview
The in-house digital print plant complements FT’s direct mail
and variable print operations in Southampton and focuses on
short and digital colour and black & white copying and
print-on-demand services.

Originally created to produce training materials and manuals
for the banks and other specialist training companies, the
digital operation continues to receive significant investment in
the latest digital technologies, for the production of
print-on-demand items such as business cards, together with
transpromo documents and personalised one-to-one mailing
pieces using XMPie software.

The operation has its own dedicated in-house design studio and
also works closely with a number of large agencies and printers
who it uses in peak periods and as an overflow.

Digital Plant List
Colour machines:
4 x Oce digital with in-line finishing.
Duplexing up to SRA3 on materials up to 350gsm. Up to 16,000 copies per hour.

Black machines:
4 x Oce digital printers with in-line finishing. Duplexing up to A3 on materials up to 200gsm.
Up to 25,000 copies per hour.

Finishing:
Separate finishing machines that fold/ stitch/ trim/ wire-o and comb binding, drilling, programmatic guillotine, shrink wrapping & automatic business card cutter.
